Nancy Pieper

Nancy Jean Pieper, 58, of Caledonia, Minn., passed away Friday, June 10, 2016, at Gundersen Tweeten Care Center in Spring Grove, Minn., after a long illness.

She was born March 20, 1958, to Gerhard and Rose (Neuman) Pieper. Nancy enjoyed reading, teaching Sunday School and taking long walks. She was a very loving and caring person to everyone she met. After graduating from Caledonia High School, Nancy attended WWTC in La Crosse, receiving a degree in accounting. She also worked for many years at the Caledonia Bakery where she was fondly known as the “Donut Lady.”

Survivors include two sisters, Ruby (Lee) Karels of Minneapolis, Minn., and Joann Bjergum of Caledonia; two nieces, Pam (Lyle) Horihan of Cottage Grove, Minn., and Laurel (David) Matson of Champlin, Minn.; one nephew, Mark (Julie) Karels of Coon Rapids, Minn.; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Gerhard Pieper, and her brother-in-law, Larry Bjergum.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 650 N. Kingston St., Caledonia. Rev. Jon Wolff will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church. Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Homes and Crematory, Caledonia Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent at www.jandtfredrickson.com.
