Gloria M, Felten, 91, of Caledonia passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Caledonia Care and Rehab surrounded by family.
She was born on June 6, 1925, to Phillip and Clara (Peterson) Erickson in St. Paul, Minn. She attended Como Park Grade School and Washington High School both in St. Paul.
Later in life, she met Leo Felten while he was working in St. Paul. They were married on May 18, 1946 at St. Agnes Church in St. Paul.
Gloria worked many years at Sprague National Bank and Coast to Coast in Caledonia. She enjoyed going to rummage sales and having rummage sales. She earned a certificate from the Caledonia Chamber of Commerce that recognized her 15 years as chief organizer of the Caledonia city-wide garage sales. She also was a volunteer for many years for the bloodmobile in Caledonia. In her free time she enjoyed playing bingo, going to casinos, bowling, camping and fishing in Brownsville, playing cards, shaking dice,and feeding and watching birds.
In addition to raising their five children, Gloria and Leo were also foster parents to many children.
Gloria is survived by her five children, Tom (Kathy), James (Bonnie), Diane (Rick) Rosendahl, Jeff (Dawn) and Kathy (Henry) Bruening; 15 grandchildren, Rhonda (Dan) Oehmigen, Tonya Felten, Karen (Brian) White, Michael (Holly) Felten, Jon (Nicole) Felten, Aimee Alvarez, James Rosendahl, Conrad (Kristen) Rosendahl, Jeannie Hill, Jessie (Andy) Foster, Phillip (Maria) Felten, Tony (Crystal) Felten, Jacob Bruening and Marisa (David) Pearson; 28 great-grandchildren Felicity, Dominic, Rachel, Lauren, Dylan, Hailey, Sawyer, Jack, Ashley (Travis), Taylor (Christian), Nathan, Brittany, Logan, Nichaela, Gabriel, Nicholas, Cody, Steven, Alexyess, Kristopher, Breanna, Marques, Lev, Paige, Andrew, Peyten, Jacklyn and Kalyn; and six great-great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Aalivyah, Namen, Zane, Mayson, and Journee.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Leo in 2010; sister, Barb Kaufenburg; sister-in-law, Clara Felten; daughter-in-law, Jeannie; granddaughters, Maria Bruening and Nicole Rosendahl; and step-grandson Richie Bullock.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 27 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caledonia. Fr. Matt Fasnacht will officiate and burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends may call Sunday, June 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Holy Family Hall, with prayer services at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be at the church one hour prior to services on Monday.
